9945-2-65 _____________________________________________________________________________ Topic: ex Relevant Sections: 5.10.7.2 p523 lin 1311 Defect Report: ----------------------- (June 29, 1994) Subject: Command Description for ex I would like an interpretation of the Command Description for ex outlined in ISO/IEC 9945-2:1993 section 5.10.7.2, p. 523, Line 1311. The current standard incorrectly documents which address is used for the starting line, when both a line range and count are specified. Historical practice has it as the last address in a range specification, not the first. To remedy this problem, could the word "first" on line 1311 be replaced with "last"? If you require clarification of this request, or more information, please do not hesitate to contact me at (519) 884-2251. If you prefer email, you may reach me at [email protected]; please refer to "ex.6107" in your message. (Alex White) WG15 response for 9945-2:1993 ----------------------------------- The request is substantially identical to interpretation #64 question #9, and the resolution of that interpretation applies in this case. Rationale for Interpretation: ----------------------------- None. _____________________________________________________________________________
